a demon of the False Earth Hell: Species: Orange Spider Type: Physical (Spider) Home world: Hell: False Earth: roam about the streets and forests of the forested regions of the North Eastern end. Usually build communal webs around houses and deep woods. Description: Look like orange tarantulas about the size of guinea pigs. They are always found in a swarm. These creatures are low level demons, in that they are actually animals of this layer created specifically for this place. They can often be seen traveling in organized swarms following back roads and trails. If they detect human soul bodies or other potential food they will go after it. They have been known to build massive webs cocooning houses to prevent soul bodies from escaping what they thought was a safe place to hide while the spiders figure out a way in. Abilities: They act more like ants in that they are organized and act as a single “super organism”. These spiders have only average strength for their size but as a group that is overpowering for most soul bodies and smaller animals. Typically they just hunt along the roads, sending scouts out to grab small animals for the group to feed on unless they come across larger carcasses. However they are programmed to target human soul bodies. Which is why they will chase after them and even spend time and energy trying to get into a house. They will seek out every possible crevice even going through the foundation (although if they fall into the basement this puts them at risk of falling into the Catacombs, so they will avoid the basements at all costs; yes the unexpected solution to escape these swarming into a house is to go into the basement. These spiders will stop right at the top steps and windows and not go further. Mostly out of instinctual fear of what is below ground). The web they make around a house will be several feet thick, and even begin to have an orange hue to it. While some may think they can handle the spiders, these massive orange cocoon webs tend to attract other small low class demons to the presence of human soul bodies, which may be smarter or strong enough to break windows and pick locks. Orange Spiders possess a paralyzing venom and unlike most spiders will bite off and swallow chunks of meat (usually from still living victims). They may also cocoon a soul body up and lay their eggs in various soft fleshy areas; which their young will hatch out of and devour after a few months (keeping in mind soul bodies can’t die of thirst or hunger). -in essence these demons exist mainly to herd soul bodies down to the next layer of Hell. Especially as they rarely do enough damage to warrant a full “respawning” of the soul body elsewhere and just a heal up after the spiders have their fill and move on.
