a man called WILLIAM CAXTON has bn trained by ROBERT LARGE in uk who was a member of one of the greatest trading companies of those days, the mercers company. the year after Caxton came to be trained by him he was chosen Lord Mayor of London. so while Caxton was living in his house, he learnt many things besides his trade. but after Caxton had been with him for three years, ROBERT LARGE died and the boy had to go back to a new place to finish his apprenticeship.he was sent to BRUGES, a city in Belgium which was one of the most important headquarters of the Mercers Company.
