a movie list such as this has to be a list of movies that affected me for the positive this century because I like moving on.... heres what comes to mind in no particular order.... I will tag Kevin Crust Samantha Sprecher Heather Denton-Richard Daniel Villarreal Tim Reinke Abdul Malik Abbott Flavio Morales Kenneth Nowell Jaime F Cuadros Patrick Gallo Marcus Tsong David Winkfield Keith Miller got tagged today so Im tagging other mofos... City of God because its bad ass, passionate, and on fire... Amores Perros because its bad ass, passion, alive and on fire Bad Grandpa because at the heart of it theres a good little move buried inside it... The Raid I and II written & directed by Gareth Evans because this dude is such a good director... He makes the Sergio Leone of Good The Bad & The Ugly look like hes in the slow lane. The Master because its a completely realized film that nails so much... Million Dollar Baby... the later part of Clints directing career from around this point on is just monumental, this is an example of a Hollywood movie that works & thats almost impossible to do any more... Grand Budapest Hotel here is someone arriving at every promise they ever made... Outrage by Takeshi Kitano, its perfectly realized and so spare but it comes at you like a full orchestra at full blast. Chinatown stays with me because its perfectly realized and that gives it a timelessness, its set in my home, its the lens through which I still view the world.... The Matrix because its the first non cartoon movie that blew my sons mind and we had to watch all three too many times...
