a sneak peek at my story ;) I awoke in a dim room. Frantically I arose feeling the walls for a door or window, all I felt was the cool glass. I pounded on it, but all I heard was a thud. I sighed and paced around. Where was I? I thought. I analyzed the situation. I left work at eleven pm, entered my car at 11:05, and exited the parking lot at 11:07. I was driving home and saw the time was 11:20. I looked at my watch. It was four am. Shit, I thought. What happened to 4 hours and thirty minutes? Despite all my efforts I couldn’t think of how I got here or why. I was a good person that dedicated time and money to my community. I was that good person who helped my neighbor. I went to church every Sunday. Why would this happen!? I screamed to myself. I sat, for the first time in awhile, feeling low. Usually I feel confident with my group of friends protecting me and surrounding me, but now I that I was alone I felt naked. Overhead, florescent lights flickered on revealing a stainless steel door with the number one. What does one signify? I pondered. I heard the lock on my door click. I dashed towards the door and rushed out thinking it was my way out of this prison. I was wrong. The doors lead me into yet another room with a large steel table in center. I heard other footsteps. Two women and four men exited their glass prisons. One of the men was wide, around the face; one clenched his fist and looked ready for a fight, one slouched as he walked and headed straight to a chair, and the last man wore a suit with a blue silk tie. The one woman wore a business suit. The other wore clothes, stretched to live beyond their years. We all stood there silent, just looking at one another. What made us belong here? Was it chance? Was there meaning behind why we got chosen? I wondered. My thoughts were intruded by a male voice. I swirled around to see a man in a white mask on the T.V.
