a sweet sister in Christ shared this post, it will not let me share it, so I copied and pasted it here, My dear sis God and I know who you are, you are truly and example of the woman God knows you are. thanks again for being my friend, huggggggz Kat, This time of year is a hard time of year for many people. Those who are broken hearted because they have lost someone they loved find themselves thinking about them more than ever at this time of the year. Even those who are not heart broken but many are broken in spirit and do not even know why. I felt led to share this message. When I was living a life without Christ as my Savior I loved Christmas. It was my favorite time of year. I have such comforting memories of my Mom at Christmas. However, I would put my heart into the season. The gift buying, choosing the special gift, I wanted that Hallmark picture the the tv shows. The fireplace with family around it looking like they love one another. I wanted that. Sadly every year I would live excited in anticipation for Christmas day and by 7:00 that evening I would feel so empty. I would feel a great disappointment come over me. There were times I wished I could fast forward to the new year. I would cry secretly. I felt so let down and empty. I dont know what I expected??? I fell for the retail hype and all the balls and bells. It was horrible. However, I will tell you that since I decided to surrender to God I have never had one unhappy Christmas. NOT ONE. I found out that Christmas is not what I thought it was at all. When you find the meaning of Christmas you will not ever feel empty again. I know there are many people out there that have experienced the let down of the season. They are sad, lonely, sick, some even homeless. Some just feel like the retail hype just is not even working anymore. Those of you who have found the gift of Christmas...the true gift to mankind, I encourage you to forget about you for a moment. Reach out ....the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. Hearts are soft and people need to know about the hope and the real joy in CHRISTmas. If you know what Im talking about and if you yourself remember a time when you did not know any better this is for you. Try to use this time to tend to the harvest. Witness to others like never before, develop relationships. Ask God to help you to reach others for His Glory. Tell them your story because nobody can tell it like you. We all have one. Tell them what changed about you when you surrendered. Go back and revisit the memory of the old you. In doing so it will help you to remember how far you have truly come....sometimes we forget how really far we have come, how far we have grown. I know this is long but as I sat this lunch hour waiting at the car dealer for some parts these very things came to me and I was led to share. God Bless you as you ponder what you can do for someone this season. The best way to lift a heavy feeling is to do something for someone else...try it and I know you will feel blessed and you will bless someone but I bet you will be more blessed
