a while ago my coworker noticed that i always have a book with me, (i take the bus to and from work; that and my breaks are great opportunities to read) and gave me a stack of books. one of those books was by james patterson (11th hour). a couple of weeks ago i found myself on the way to work with nothing to read, having finished a very insightful book about rasputin. i knew the walgreens i live next to had a selection of paperbacks, and upon perusal found another patterson novel (zoo) which i read through in about a week. im beginning to like pattersons style because im able to imbibe it as easily as the highballs which i am so fond of mixing at home, while retaining the complexity of the cocktails i enjoy while out and about. so, while reading the long (LONG) list of books that patterson has written and collaborated upon, i noticed the title along came a spider among the list of works featuring the protagonist alex cross. i immediately recognized the movie of the same name starring morgan freeman, and, only having a vague impression of it being some sort of crime drama in the vein of tom clancy or john grisham, decided to check it out (its on netflix). the point of this very long post is check out along came a spider, especially if you have no idea what its about. and read books.
