aFatwa Question: Your eminence knows that Usâmah bin Lâdin incites the youths of the world and encourages them to corruption upon the earth. Is it allowed for us to call him as “Khârijî” especially given the fact that he supports the homicide-attacks in our countries? Shaykh al-Fawzân: The one who possesses this way of thinking belongs to the Khawârij. The one who has this way of thinking and calls to it and incites to it belongs to the Khawârij regardless of what he is called or where he is. This is also a principle: the one who calls to this way of thinking such as revolting against the rulers and Takfîr upon the Muslims and declaring their lives as allowed to be taken, belongs to the Khawârij.
