actually i never understood or practiced this as simultaneous multitasking. it is more about intelligent task switching and prioritizing, mostly by letting people believe that you are working on their stuff only because you can show visible progress. like computers do it. you will often see me with ear plugs or letting phone calls go to voice mail. of course i always follow up, if possible by showing up in person. our work environment in large offices with cubicles is horrible to get any work done meanwhile.
