…add me… Thanks The Ugly Duckling: “The ruined house is a symbol that brings us back to a family in ruins... in brief a familiar cold and uncaring. Not surprisingly, a familiar habitat where there is too much severity, mental rigidity and lack of love, is likely to shape the descendants full of insecurities, psychosis, phobias and neurosis. In the rest of the fairy-tale, we are told that in fact the cat and the hen keep silent the Ugly Duckling when doesn’t do what they command him. Some parents with harsh words or looks sharp, pretend to be perfect and righteous; not allowing the thoughts and ideas of their children, to speak with spontaneity and freedom. The children must be heard; then we try to reason with simplicity, trying to understand with patience and temperance issues to deal with. Education should not be an act of tyranny over the weak. Otherwise we risk depleting the empathic quality and potential of the children. Not to mention that the children are likely to turn in on themselves, and not to develop a very important feature for individual growth, which is to be able to listen to the next; fundamental essence when they shall report to the spouse, children, friends or co-workers. In other words, pay attention and listen to our own children, it is an act of love that encourages their mental and moral growth”.
