admin* if not allowed please Delete*** Its becoming more and more apparent to me how much the homeless population has increased in Deland. I live in the heart of downtown, and the amount of homeless people that i see has almost doubled. While most dont notice, i live right in a spot where you can see two homeless camps. last year at this time there was only one. I know that a majority of the homeless in this area are in that situation because of poor choices or addiction, but for anyone who has to live outside in winter, even in Florida, regardless of the reason why, it sucks. Id like to start collecting blankets and canned goods and snacks so i can make some care packages for the homeless that live downtown. anyone who would like to volunteer to help collect blankets and canned goods and random things, maybe hygeine items, or hand warmers. sweatshirts, jackets. WE HAVE TO DO THIS ! God is really tugging my heartstrings on this one so, if you would like to volunteer to collect, or help me make up and distribute the care packages please let me know. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO DONATE ANY OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED ITEMS PLEASE COMMENT OR MESSAGE ME. I want to collect all week and spend the weekend putting it together. let make SOME PAY IT FORWARD KINDNESS for OUR hometown homeless. ITS JUST THE RIGHT THING TO DO.
