ainnews 12 Buena Vista Social Club: “Good-Bye” HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 7 (acn) Buena Vista Social Club will carry out, starting from next year’s summer, an international tour it has called “Adios” (Good-Bye). This tour represents the groups’ farewell from the big stages in which they have presented some of the best of Cuban music. The band’s current members under the musical direction of trombonist Jesus «Aguaje» Ramos, will regale the public with their art for the last time in international stages, the Cubadebate Web site reported on Wednesday. Accompanying the orchestra will be several musicians, like Eliades Ochoa, Guajiro Mirabal and Barbarito Torres; as well as other virtuosos, such as veteran tres (three-string guitar) player Papi Oviedo and pianist Rolando Luna among others. “Adios” will also pay tribute to great musicians that have contributed to the acknowledgement achieved by Buena Vista Social Club. During the tour, musicians will give keynote lectures at local schools and universities, and will support the development of projects involving children and youngsters. The Spanish agency Europa Press informed that the tour will begin in the summer of 2014 and will end in the autumn of 2015, and that it will have a perfect finish with a concert in Havana.
