aladabia.net/article-12765-4_1 Three film critics form three continents: members of CIFCW jury The jury of Cairo International Film Critics Week consists of three film critics form three different continents; they are: Khemais Khayati, jury president, Tunisian journalist dedicated to the field of cinema and audio-visual media. He holds a Ph.D. in sociology from the New University of Sorbonne on the subject of National sentiment in Salah Abu Seif movies. He worked for numerous media and for several years he was a member in the Selection Committee of the Film Critics Week in Cannes International Film Festival. Deborah Young, jury member, born in America and based in Rome, Italy, Deborah Young is the international film editor of The Hollywood Reporter and a contributing editor of Cineaste. She attends numerous festivals where she reviews world cinema, with a particular interest in Arab films and especially Egyptian cinema. Her company Ka Studio has organized film festivals like the Taormina Film Fest and Transparencies in Tuscany, both of which she directed, and has initiated a number of film restoration projects. Barbara Lorey, jury member, Paris-based journalist and film-critic. Born in former East Germany, Barbara studied in Germany and France and has masters’ degrees in psychology and sociology. She has written for numerous major newspapers and film magazines in Germany, France and Switzerland. A member of FIPRESCI (International Federation of Film Critics), she is in charge of Fipresci Award Promotion and organizes special film programs and retrospectives for festivals. She is also a program consultant for various international film festivals such as Visions du Réel, Nyon, Switzerland.
