+amgD I keep saying that... But everyone thinks theyre the expert of everything, and that keeps them doing it--not so much wrongly, but in a way that prevents them from attaining what they actually want--which they so often dont really know either: Its like this--people will list an objective like I want to get back into school, rather than something like, I want to be a medical doctor. But both of those wont get more people feeling fulfilled. Why ? Its because the first (going back to school) is not even an objective, but one specific step in one specific path to a specific type of objective. The second is a career but its not necessarily arrived at in a systematic way that would address what motivates people; for example, as Edvard Teponainen so astutely observed, most people might think this if, for example, the actual underlying motivators that they are too Proud to admit, even to themselves: I want to be attractive to hot chicks. Hot chicks are attracted by men who have a nice house, flashy car, and impressive sounding life. A medical doctor is commonly associated with these things. I want to become a medical doctor. A medical school requires a certain amount of schooling to get into. I want to go back to school. Even completing the entire chain perfectly or near-as-possible -to perfectly will not satisfy the end motivator, for example, if the underlying motivator is a feeling of inadequacy which will lead all the hot chicks in the world wanting you, and you will still feel unfulfilled. And its easier to see all the way down the chain there is both a flaw in the connection (not a trivial syllogism that is presumed to be) and in the fact (not a fact, but is presumed to be). It is because one of my--and kait0r strengths--is in abstract thinking; when one sees the universe not for its specifics but what concept each specific is just an example of, its extremely simple and so what seems to be too fast to have arrived at an answer is actually, from our point of view, Why did it take you guys so long to figure this out?! and its very easy to see along the way where you make an error in logic because insert tab a into slot b looks immediately wrong when you first pick up a wrench X, for example, but takes most people trying it over and over tu realize the same thing....
