ampulets has the privilege to work with Eisner nominated comic artist, Sonny Liew and the National Gallery Singapore to bring your Warm Nights, Deathless Days - a graphic novel that tells the story of one of Singapores most prominent pioneer artists Georgette Chen (1906-1993). A moving portrait of Chens life, thoughts, and dreams. The title Warm Nights, Deathless Days draws inspiration from Georgette Chens many references to deathless days and deathless friendships in her letters. After she settled down in Singapore in 1953, apart from driving to Malaysia, she did not travel. Her letters crossed continents and oceans from her house in Siglap. She wrote to friends and family in China, America, and Malaysia, speaking of reading their letters and writing to them as quiet moments of conversation that she cherished. ------- There will be a showcase/ book launch, alongside with Sonnys latest comic The Shadow Hero at BooksActually tomorrow, 10 Oct at 7.30pm.
