an exciting and interesting start to the morning!! wiley somehow managed to climb a snowpile and leap over the neighbors approximately five foot high wrought iron fence, which surrounds her pool. the problem stemmed from the fact that there were no snowpiles inside, that were high enough to allow him to climb out. additionally, we were concerned that he would be impaled by the sharp spikes that decorate the fence...and as most of you know, i am already familiar with the pain of becoming impaled. it is important to avoid that. as a result, dave and i trudged through about 4 feet of snow carrying a barstool, a ladder and a shovel, in order to perform the rescue. dave heroically risked his own impalement by climbing over the fence, shoveling the gate open (which only opened to the inside) and freeing wiley. wiley, who is feeling delightfully energetic and happy, is going to be on a leash when he goes outside, until olivia gets home tonight. okay, time to call my neighbor barb and explain what we were doing at 6:30 am in her yard...all of her lights in the kitchen came on while we were working. lol
