"and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors..." part of a prayer so many of us have said time and time again...asking for forgiveness and granting forgiveness to others- such an important and humbling piece of life. The part I find most difficult is forgiving myself when I make a mistake. As I struggle with this currently, I took it to the Lord this morning and He reminded me of this: who am I to hold onto unforgiveness towards myself when HE, THE KING, forgives me. He reminds me also that heaping guilt and shame on myself is not going to bring forth life, or fruit to B shared with others. By kicking myself down repeatedly, I will not B able to share my giftings with others. Instead, I am encouraged to learn from my mistake, accept His gracious love and forgiveness, and move on. So, while I may want to hold onto my mistakes & make myself feel bad, that is not what He wants for his children, so I am going to give it to Him and follow His lead. Thankful for a loving God.
