and i was right using my expertise in geology, a tsunami warning or watch was not issued. it has to be a particular type or style of quake for even a decent tsunami to be generated. the only way you could have a large catastrphic tsunami is when you have a qauke higher than lets say a 7.5 because the larger the magnitued the larger and more powerful a tsunami wave is. In the first 1992 qauke the 7.0 did generate a small tsunami here at our coast it was only 2 feet which is about right for a qauke that size.
