...and the days rolled by :) Yesterday I met one of my students whom I taught between his 3rd and 5th Grade, today being a fine 17 year old young man with a Rebellious Soul and wide hopes and dreams :) We talked for a good three hours or so of which I asked about the rest of his class, whom not very surprisingly, turned out totally opposite of the direction the school was pushing them to take. You see, I was teaching in one of the schools which belonged to one of the infamous Political Islamist groups and who were attempting to push the children very hard to align with their vision and ways. Children and teachers alike with a more individualistic way of being, who didn’t go along were considered “bad”, and constantly made feel “as if” God’s very creation of them was some kind of mistake; that they are inadequate, not good enough according to the Islamist vision of how a Human “should be” like. And then, inevitably... The Days Rolled By ;) Today, almost all of them have turned out to be very different from what the school intended; Individual, Rebellious, Open Minded, a bit “Weird”, among a few other things that I shall refrain from mentioning because it’s their private life 3:) What made me happiest though was him telling me how much of a positive influence I was on them, and how they felt Free around me, and that was simply because I listened, showed respect for their Mind, Souls, Way of Being, and treated them like they actually mattered, some of the things which many other of their and my teachers long ago failed to show. Now, what my dear students may not know is how much of a positive influence they were on me, how much I learned from them how to truly Be, and how much these years I spent “apparently” teaching them, yet in reality learning were some of the best years of my life. And it was their presence in them that made them so. To parents and educators, stop pushing children to be the version you “think” is best, to be something they are not. This is not only for the children’s sake, but also yours, because one day they may greatly disappoint you - the day they Blossom into what you fear the most. 3:) Bellow, The Auditory Bible of School Children Enjoy :) https://youtube/watch?v=YR5ApYxkU-U
