...and todays handy topic is.....TESTING AND TAGGING of appliances (read: GUITAR AMPS). Did you know that ALL electrical appliances at ALL workplaces must be tested for electrical safety and tagged with a label showing the date the item was tested, the date it is due to be tested again and whom it was tested by?? You may have gotten away with it so far but anyone who has played a corporate gig, played at any of the more formal function centres and theatres around town, played on a mine site, played for any government agency (Shire or Town councils etc), played at any formal festival or concert in the state, either knew they had to have their gear tested and tagged and had it done prior to the gig or found out the hard way that they would not be playing that gig when they were turned away....eventually even pubs and clubs will be forced to comply to these State and Federal regulations. SO get you gear to Sharp Sounds Audio, we are fully licenced and qualified to test and tag your gear. As well we are experienced musicians with good gear ourselves so we KNOW how to look after yours. Excellent rates apply and if you have your amp serviced by us, testing and tagging of the amp is included FREE OF CHARGE. As well we are licenced to rectify any problems found when testing your gear (dodgy plugs etc). Just so you know - any amp/appliance must be tested and tagged annually, any separate power lead every three months. This applies to ANYTHING that can be plugged into the mains voltage (wall warts, effects, power supplies). They must all show a current label that they have been tested to the Australian Standard ASA 3760. So what are you waiting for....?
