Please keep a sharp eye out for them, especially when you are walking your dog near long grass or even taken your family and pets to the park. If you happen to see a snake, please do not attempt to move it, kill it or go near it, and remember to NOT PANIC! Most snakes will not deliberately move towards you unless it is provoked. Try to back away slowly from the snake but keep your eye on it. In most cases you will not see the bite marks from the snake on your pet. Clinical signs can vary depending on the type of snake (brown, tiger, red belly black) but the most common symptoms are: Sudden weakness followed by collapse, shaking or twitching of the muscles, vomiting, dilated pupils not responsive to light, blood in the urine and in the later stages paralysis may occur and DEATH. If you suspect your pet has been bitten by a snake, you need to bring it to the closest vet ASAP as time is vital. Identification of the snake is extremely helpful but not always possible
