(another video) Last Saturday, 10/11, I paddled the Turner River in Big Cypress National Park, one of my favorite trips. The water level was really high so I was able to paddle upstream to a lake Id never been to before. Then I paddled downstream and barely made it under the bridge. The beautiful mangrove tunnels presented quite a challenge due to the water level including slinking under the low hanging branches, not being able to avoid about a gazillion spider webs and falling prey to the hungry mosquitoes. Although all of that shortened my trip considerably, I was still rewarded with more birds than Ive ever seen there as well as some grand-daddy alligators close up.
