History of because I said I would: Alex Sheen, founder, speaks of his father being an ordinary man. Describing him as everyday and average. One thing his father did superbly well was keep his promises. My father was a man of his word. When his father died, he gave his eulogy. He spoke of how his father treated his promises. People tend to say, Ill get to it and tomorrow. Well, tomorrow is not guaranteed, so the promises we keep and those we chose not to, define us. On that day, Alex handed out his first promise cards. I wanted my cards to remind people how important our commitments are. On the card, write a promise as a symbol of your honor. You can request 10 promise cards and Alex will send them to anyone, anywhere, at no cost. You can also print your own from their website. Examples of promises made and kept: James uses the promise cards to keep track of how many months hes been sober. Alex Sheen, founder, promised to volunteer at a different non-profit each week for 52 weeks. Marialicia mad a promise to better her health. Website: becauseisaidiwould By Andrea Clark, MCN Reporter
