TIP: how to tell if your melon is a good one? Smell the place where it was attached to the tree. If you smell a fruity smell than its good. No smell maybe not so good and picked too soon. I often pick the ones that look a bit damaged cause they are not hard as rock and tasteless. Also I never choose the ones that smell like they have been asked in bleach! My nose is very sensitive so I pick up these smells. If you get one of those unfortunately tasteless melons you can add Madeira wine to it a bit but I imagine something like elderberry sirop might help as well.
