best review of 2001 Ive read, courtesy of my friend: 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968, D: Stanley Kubrick) Stanley Kubrick has crafted a dynamic vision of staggering beauty with 2001: A Space Odyssey. This misunderstood film has been subject to intense scrutiny and has divided audiences for close to 40 years now. This is not a film that can be viewed casually or played in the background. It begs to be experienced fully with undivided attention and an open mind. The existential implications presented herein demand much more from the viewer than your average film, and Kubrick experiments with the abstract in ways that were unimagined at the time. Visually dazzling and cerebrally stimulating, I hated this shit and wanted to die throughout the whole godforsaken 3 hours. -Jay Foos
