biologists: im thinking for reasons why theres so much family conflict. my current hypothesis is its evolution. during meiosis, dont we dump half our parental chromosomes? so that half is gone when we are formed. then in developing we only show some of those remaining characteristics. then our gamete joins with a foreign (spousal) one with truly alien genes. this is our child. creating a truly trepidacious situation. nevermind adoptive parents who are dealing with wholly alien genes. but maybe totally alien is easier to swallow than ones that are only *sort of* understandable. but then if this is right why do bio and adoptive kids BOTH drive us crazy? and on the other hand, why do our parents drive us crazy? and our siblings? is it all genetic diversity? sigh.
