“…blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway - TopicsExpress

“…blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me”. (Mark 10 vs 46-47). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today. One issue that confined Bartimaeus was his blindness. He was limited by his lack of sight. He may have desired a better tomorrow but he couldn’t see. He may have wanted good opportunities, but he couldn’t see. He may have wanted an encounter with Jesus, but he couldn’t see. If only he could see, there would have been better things he could do apart from begging. Notice carefully, that even though Bartimaeus couldn’t see, Scriptures said he heard about Jesus. When he couldn’t see, what he heard took him out of his situation. What he heard made him capture a fleeting opportunity. What he heard terminated his negative circumstances. Friend, you may not have seen where God is taking you to; You may not have also seen what the future holds for you. You may not have seen the results from your efforts. You may not have seen what you want to see. Today, God says, you may not have seen what you want, but if you heard it, it will come to pass. If you heard a word from God, hold on to it; it is the key that will unlock the next level. What you hear from God is a seed that will yield a heavy harvest. Hold on to God’s Word! Declare it! Shout it aloud! Write it on the tablets of your heart! Don’t focus on what you are yet to see. God says, focus on the Word that you heard, and it will raise you. Pray with me, “Lord, I choose to focus on what I have heard from you, may it change my story in Jesus name”. Have a Restful Saturday!
