I would go back, stop and talk to her. Lo and behold, one day I stopped at her kennel and she was wagging her tail and wiggling her whole body. I thought she was a different dog. I wondered if something had happened to the OTHER dog that was in that kennel. But I realized no dog in D71 had been euthanized or moved recently, so it had to be same dog. Once out of the kennel she was on me like a magnet. Super sweet. Gives kisses. Her new behavior earned her another attempt at an exam. The vet noted: “Once she gets to know you, she wants to sit in your lap.” She is heart worm NEGATIVE!!She’s beautiful despite her sagging empty mammary glands. Easy to leash. Outside is quick to jump up on handler and hangs there. Quickly attached to one staff member and seeks out attention from her. Would not engage in play or roam on own; just wanted to hang with person she knows. Tolerant of handling paws, mouth and hug. Long nails need trimming. (jgrantman) 9/6/2013 Vet exam 2 years Not altered 48 lbs. No microchip found. Excoriations behind ears from pruritis. Ear mtes. Treated with a 10:1 Propolene glycol / ivermectin mix. Retreat once a week for 4 weeks. Rash on ventral abdomen where empty mammary glands are hanging. There is a small amount of yellow mammary gland discharge. Rx: Cephalexin 500mg twice a day for 7 days. Fearful, but timid. Once she gets to know you, she wants to sit in your lap. Rabies Heartworm test negative.
