#braintumorthursday 36 days after this MRI Abbie had died from DIPG. This moves FAST! it is not deemed the MOST aggressive brain cancer in children for nothing! Within the age range onset, its impossible surgical location and all we know about the different driving mutations so far, DIPG is likely to arise via unique evolutionary process which need novel tailored therapeutics. This research is coming NOW and whilst exciting what we CANNOT allow to happen is that funding falls behind the current interest in this field, we also cannot let it outpace the development of new treatments and trials for DIPG kids. I spoke with Keith Desserich yesterday (DIPG Collaborative) and never more has this financial support from the group foundations been needed. Please dont think because we read of National Charities here taking on DIPG that its all covered, its fantastic but there is still much to do. If youre moved please ACT - because Action Changes Things!
