Source: AAP TASMANIAS leaders have cast their votes as the state decides who should govern for the next four years. Labor Premier Lara Giddings hugged supporters outside a polling booth on Hobarts eastern shore in her electorate of Franklin. Ms Giddings admitted to some nerves as she awaits the decision of Tasmanians on her government. Im going to be entering the polling booth with anticipation and excitement, but also Im feeling daunted as well as you wonder what the future will hold, she told reporters. The premier said she would take a break on Saturday afternoon after an intense two months since she announced the election date. Under Tasmanias Hare-Clark voting system five members are returned in each seat and Ms Giddings opponents in Franklin include opposition leader Will Hodgman and Greens leader Nick McKim. A casually dressed Mr Hodgman arrived at Hobarts City Hall with his wife Nicky and their three children. The Liberal leader said it had been business as usual at home on election morning. (Weve been doing) a few things around the house, he said. Weve got a few things to attend to as most families do on Saturday mornings. Mr Hodgman said he would continue talking with voters until polls closed. Greens leader Mr McKim cast his vote at Blackmans Bay in Hobarts south after arriving with his parents John and Joanne. More than 360,000 Tasmanians were due to vote in 305 polling places as far flung as King Island in Bass Strait. Voters will elect a 25-seat House of Assembly, the states 48th parliament, and Tasmanias 45th premier. Seven parties were fielding 126 candidates across the states five electorates - Bass, Braddon, Denison, Franklin and Lyons. Voting closes at 6pm (AEDT).
