breaking news: On August 4, 2014, I wrote an initial article about the Ebola virus and the treatment of the two medical workers whom had been brought to the United States for treatment. Since that time, those two individuals have recovered and another health worker has been brought to the United States for the same treatment and so far it appears that the individual is making progress on recovery. In spite of the progress, many of us were still tied up in knots by mere virtue of the fact that the infected persons were in this country. It was noted that the health care workers were meticulously transported from Africa to this country making certain that none of the individuals who handled them could be infected. They were kept in isolation for the duration and finally recovered and are now able to speak on television on the subject. The individuals who recovered spoke about the disease when it was learned that a man on his first trip to the United States from Liberia, had been diagnosed with Ebola. He flew into the United States and passed through customs and other kinds of detectors to fall ill a few days after his arrival in Dallas, Texas. When he first sought medical treatment he was treated for what may have been thought of as a common respiratory illness and lost some of his file information in the process, and when it was discovered that he was infected with Ebola, began to concentrate on charging him with a crime. It was later learned that he had given the required information requested of him. He was put in isolation and his progress has taken a turn for the worst. Health officials throughout this state, the Center for Disease Control and other states are working to be prepared for an outbreak of the disease anywhere, but feel that it will be contained in Dallas, Texas and so far, there has been no report of any of the people with whom the infected person came into contact with, having the infection. We pray that this is correct. We must now admit that globalization has come full circle. We can no long ignore the fact that what happens in other countries does not concern us. “What has that got to do with the price of tea in China?” If we stop to really think about it and analyze it, we will understand exactly what it has to do with the price of anything everywhere. Modes of transportation, handling of goods, the scarcity of goods or the availability determines the price to you. For one thing, our President has made sure that supplies and health care workers are in Africa working to help to stop the spread of the disease. Hopefully, some of that help is contained in educating the people of the hazards of touching or handling anything directly, with their hands or any part of an infected person’s body or belongings as the disease is NOT AIRBORNE like measles and “Flu,” but like HIV after touching contact with bodily fluids and blood. Mayors in Texas cities are sending letters to churches in their cities, asking them to share the available information which they have throughout their e-network about the facts of the disease and the infected individual. PRAYER IS ENCOURAGED along with TRUTH. Let us get ‘in cinque’ and pray that Ebola is contained and stopped everywhere it now exists and HOPE for a cure. Tags: featured, full-image Category: Health
