by Nancy Yelp reviewer ★★★★ New 11/15/2014 Made a last minute call on Saturday afternoon in October and the lovely Elizabeth managed to seat husband and I at the bar for dinner. Street parking is tricky...easier to park one block west of the restaurant. Small place but welcoming. Great menu. Lovely bread basket with olive tapanade, all made by Frank. Shared the oysters and caesar salad (garnished with cheese made by Frank) which they graciously plated on two plates. Oysters were fabulous, I would go back for a double order and a glass of pinot grigio if dining alone. Husband had a perfectly cooked strip loin accompanied with a bowl of frites which was enough for both of us. He said it was one of the best steaks ever. I had the lamb chops and they were medium rare, sweet and meaty. The sorbet between salad and main was sour and cleansing and such a traditional touch. Dessert was plum tarte tartin with homemade ice cream and a divine chocolate slice with three balls of intense raspberry sorbet. Elizabeths service skills are professional and personal and she pulls a mean espresso/americano to end the meal. The cheque is presented with two dark chocolate made by Frank of course! Husbands parting words were how long do we have to call ahead for a table? Dress nice, it makes the experience all the more special.
