#calledtoshare #discoverthebook I first discovered the Book of Mormon when the missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (seemingly randomly) knocked on my apartment door in October 2012. At first I had no interest in talking with them and I gave them an excuse of Noah needing to be put down for a nap just so they would go away. A couple weeks later they came back and invited me to church. I agreed, not knowing that my life was about to be changed forever. One lesson turned into two, which turned into regular weekly lessons. At one of my lessons, I was gifted my very first Book of Mormon by Jessica McDaniel and I was so touched by it that I was holding back tears. Early December, Brandon Thompson and Sam Cooper invited me to be baptized. I was nervous but hesitantly agreed. As our lessons continued, I became more and more interested in what ws being tought to me. And then one evening we had a lesson about the Plan of Salvation, and it blew my mind. It sounded so familiar, as though somehow I had already heard it somewhere before. I knew in my heart at that point that the gospel is true. That the Plan of Salvation is true. That the Book of Mormon is true. I wondered why none of my LDS (Mormon) friends from high school had never shared this incredible information with me before!!!! To know where we come from, why we are here (the meaning of life) & where we are going...it is AMAZING!!!! I finished reading the book in full in April 2013, and have continued to read it for my own spiritual growth and guidance ever since. As many of you may know, I have been through a tremendous amount of change and through several extremely stressful situations over the past year or so, but with the help of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the blessings that come with it, I have managed to pull through and withstand my trials.
