Bipartisan condemnations of him escalating from Capitol Hill & Obama admin. More of NSA’s massive surveillance program now visible in light of day. Central issue is dire shortage of democracy. How can we have real consent of governed when govt entrenched with extreme secrecy, surveillance & contempt for privacy? Same govt that continues to expand invasive dragnet of surveillance all over US & rest of the world, now asserting prerogative to drag Snowden back to USA from anywhere on the planet. It’s not only about punishing him & discouraging other potential whistleblowers. More than 15,000 Americans sent clear message to White House: “Mr. President, hands off Edward Snowden,”
