(cont) 9) When my daughters, Ashlie and Alexie Sadri, were little, I thought the word Chingadera was synonymous with Bandito: Come on Chingaderas, Id sing out loudly at the playground. Time to go home! This was no bueno. 10) Speaking of my daughters...before I had Ashlie and Alexie I was pretty aimless. After--My heart cracked open and I found purpose and strength and love, the depths of which Id never known. Now that theyre on their own...Im a little less purposeful, a little less strong and a little less aim-full, but the depths are fathomless. 11) After Kai and Ava visit, Gil and I repeat and dissect almost everything they said to extend the love and joy of having them in our lives. 12)My brother, Mike Guerin, sister, Linda Gibbs and I invented a language which requires the letters Sn before every word. Snits sneally snun snand snexy! 13) At 74, my dad is suffering from what I consider early onset dementia. Its heartbreaking and theres a dark, sad side to this, and yet...hes more vulnerable, sweet and loving than hes been for years. Im grateful for this time to find each other again. 14) I fifth guess almost every move I make. Its paralyzing. 15) When I was a kid I thought all of the fuss around things and money was unnecessary. I thought I could be happy as long as I had food, a place to sleep and shower every day. I still have that minimalist perspective. In some ways its served me well and in others, its messed me up completely. I worry about what Ive done to my 70 year old self. An elderly couch surfer is just not that charming. Ta Da! Ive taken this exercise very seriously and secretly enjoyed doing it. Let me know if youd like a number!
