#copied#VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT Kenya Red Cross Society is looking for a qualified person to fill the following position: Position Title: Theatre Nurse (3 Positions) Reporting to: Head Nurse Job Location: Dadaab THEATRE NURSE Overall Purpose Responsible to the Head Nurse to provide a high standard of client care within the theatre and for patients in accordance to clinical guidelines, policies, procedure quality standards and guidelines for nursing professional practice. Duties and Responsibilities Program Activities · The theatre nurse shall work in theatre and would therefore work as both supervisor and team leader of the refugee staff. · To undertake routine duties in theatre as to prepare and clear the theatre before and after operating session. · To undertake client care pre- and post-operatively by monitoring and responding to abnormal recordings to the anesthetist and the surgeon. · Refer to the surgeon and the anesthetist on relevant information such as patient’s status and laboratory results, which would assist in proper clinical management. · To maintain the theatre register and accurately as delegated by the Head Nurse. Minimum Qualifications · Over three (3) years’ experience in a Hospital Theatre · Registered nurse from KMTC or other recognized nurse training institute · Registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya · Post basic training in Theatre Nursing · Previous experience working in a theatre setting Key Competencies · At least 2 years working in a busy hospital set-up · Ready to work in difficult environmental conditions · Strong leadership, team building, conflict resolution and ability to deliver the Society’s strategic objectives · Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, data-base, email and utilization of the internet Applications must contain: Letter of application, curriculum vitae, copies of relevant certificates, address and contacts of two referees.
