do words seem to loose their meaning ... like the word awesome ... my God is an awesome God ... that is an awesome motorcycle ... this breakfast is awesome ... gotta tell ya there is absolutely no motorcycle or breakfast etc. that can even start to compare to my God ... oh and our society seems to be one that changes the meaning of many words ... and politicians seem to lead the way ... take the word torture for instance ... the lame stuff like water boarding that has been labeled torture in the last several years is an insult to people that have had to endure real torture, things like bamboo jammed underneath a finger nail or your head slowly cut off with a dull rusty knife etc. ... even words like racist, prejudiced ... these words and many like them are thrown around so much and used to vilify and discredit opponents to the point they loose their real meaning ... take the word prejudice ... it simply means to prejudge a situation based on common knowledge and/or experience ... EVERYBODY is prejudiced, it would kinda be stupidity not to be ... say you were in a hurry and came to a light that happened to be red and at a glance you noticed one car was an old buick with an elderly lady driving it but in the other lane was a jaguar with a young man driving it ... being a big hurry you will naturally get behind the jaguar ... you just made a prejudiced decision ... can you think of any other situations that you would prejudge a situation based on common knowledge and/or experience?
