#dollhouses and #miniature heaven.. Its early...but its been a long day! We did get some much needed rain...yesterday and today...since we are in Stage 4 water restrictions in the Heights...the Warehouse yard is suffering...hand watering is permitted...so, guess who goes and waters daily? Glad to see some of you saw and liked Ms. Lulus work...can you imagine...50 years of making miniatures! Wow! I will coax her into letting me photograph some more of her mini pieces...like I said she is shy...and not a production artist...most of her pieces are one of kind...some look similar but there is that touch of a difference...in each one! The shop was a bit slow today...dont know why? I was sent to take care of some very important paperwork...which took at least 3 hours this afternoon...I seems that one of our Dollhouses was damaged in shipping by FedEx Ground...I mean really damaged. I had it insured as always, but that is not the real issue in this case....! read on... Do you recall the Crate I built back in August for one of our clients who purchased a dollhouse and we painted it for them? Well, it was for their granddaughters birthday which was the following weekend...we had about a week and a half to do it...and it had to get done and get shipped on following Monday to get there before the weekend birthday event...both grandparents flew up to Michigan to be there...when she got her special gift from her grandparents...her first dollhouse! A luck would have it....The crate must have been dropped off a cliff or crushed by something very heavy...and the beautiful little dollhouse was in shambles! When I found out...I felt so bad that I shipped one of the same out the next week...and I will deal with the Giant Shipper FedEx Ground personally....BMT does not do this sort of work...its Uncle Joes job, he built the crate...etc, etc..... Sure, now I get to deal with the Big FedEx...adjusters, who in their first letter claimed not responsible...and no adjustment granted. Well, the BMT will not stand still for that...and that is why I left the shop at 3 p.m. to go and get the paperwork started for a different FedEx appraiser to reevaluate the claim...I sent about 40 pictures of the crate being built, the grandfather sent me pictures of its condition when it arrived, and I have photos of it when it came back to the shop...what a mess! I will post one photo just so that you can see what I am dealing with....can you imagine the disappointment to ALL the family...who just wanted to do something special for their only Granddaughter...how sad! I have had better days....have a great Sunday...you pal Uncle Joe.. P.S. See that Sunset....I really need to be there!
