ILO’s latest Global Employment Trends report shows that in Pakistan higher educational attainment actually decreases the chances of successful employment because of a mismatch between the aspirations of the youth and the skills possessed by them. It is no surprise then, that according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics; currently 8.7% of all degree holders in the country are unemployed.
