Russian President Vladimir Putin has held a briefing session with members of Russia’s Security Council on Thursday, presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov reported. The representative added that “on the session, the situation around Ukraine was discussed, in particular, regarding the resolution of Crimea’s Supreme Council adopted today”. Crimea’s Supreme Council makes fundamental decision to join Russia as federal subject Among the session’s participants were Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Speaker of the Upper House of Parliament Valentina Matvienko, State Duma Chairman Sergei Naryshkin, Head of Kremlin Administration Sergei Ivanov, FSB Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, FSB chief Alexander Bortnikov, Foreign Intelligence Service Director Mikhail Fradkov, as well as permanent member of the Security Council Boris Gryzlov. On Thursday, the Supreme Council of Crimea on its session made a decision to join Russia as a subject of the federation.
