{events of my time} WHY BLOOD EVERYWHERE? It is not longer - TopicsExpress

{events of my time} WHY BLOOD EVERYWHERE? It is not longer understandable or acceptable for us to remain in this perpetual state of Socio-political Comatose, where issues of LAWLESSNESS under the guise of Immunity that has in most cases turned to Impunity, occupy the front burners of our daily activities. A saddened situation where any Political Riffraff can just find his way to the exalted position of Authority and immediately begin to exhibit animalistic behaviours; with no element of human feelings, not even fear of God. They claim to be the Leaders in our Society whose basic responsibility is to look after the People’s well-being but unfortunately the reverse has always been the case: the more they preach God’s gospel of fairness, honesty, justice and equity, the more they execute Devil’s wishes of wickedness, oppression, selfishness, greed and most disgustingly Godlessness. I can remember in our undergraduate days at the Great Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto around 1997 (end of 2nd Semester), when my very humble friend, a young Fulani man from Katsina State ‘Yahaya Rawayau,’ came into my room and saw me lying down peacefully but somehow exhausted on my double-bunk iron-made bed and said, “look Ikunaiye, when the Bomb is Bombing, the situation is critical, and delay is dangerous!” I marveled and immediately took him up! Hey, Yahaya how do you mean? I queried him. Only to realized later that my friend was actually referring to the ‘Draconian System of Governance’ experienced then in Nigeria under the Military Junta, which was full of dictatorship and absolutism. One begins to wonder why after sixteen years of enthronement of full-fledged Civilian Government otherwise tagged as ‘Democratic Process’ we still face such (even worse) Leadership menace. It has been all sort of brutality across the World, in Palestine you see hundreds of Israelis Air Strikes against those helpless Palestinian Protestants firing Rockets from the ground and at the end of the day the superior Air Strikes will hit several targets and death toll involving mainly Women and Children will rise above hundred while that of inferior Ground Rockets fired will yield little or no effects, yet the International Community of Hypocrisy will stand aloof. In Iraq hundreds and thousands have been killed in related circumstances, the same thing in Syria, Somalia, DR Congo, South-Sudan, and Central African Republic etc. The peculiarity of Nigerian situation has made it more alarming than what we see in other places across the world. The Ruling Government is out rightly full of contradictions: when they say corruption is the bane of our economic retrogression, they strengthen the same corruption, when they blame Insurgency on Politics, they play more politics with Insurgency, so much so that corrupt and ex-criminals are now been celebrated on daily basis as long they are ready to play along. Their criminal cases have been quashed and political appointments were dished out as compensation, all under Civilian/Democratic Government whereas more of the Common Masses are being killed daily around the nation. How do we now wonder why we see Blood Everywhere? Because there is not sincerity of purpose! While the alleged Fulani Herdsmen are killing many Innocent souls in Zamfara State, the notorious Boko Haram still at rampage in the North-East causing more scores of death, and unknown Gunmen doing their own in Plateau State, our Mr. President and his Chief Spokes Minister (the Megaphone Makustics) were yesterday in Nassarawa State doing the usual ‘Political Needful’ amidst tight Security and at the same time, the Nassarawa State Legislators has directed the State Chief Judge to serve Impeachment Notice to Governor Al-Makura over gross Financial Mismanagement, what a coincidence! Perhaps they too have collected their share of the Missing Oil Billion Dollars. Blood-letting is now taken with levity as no one really cares much about its implications on our conscience. What mostly concern the so-called Leaders today is POWER TUSSLE; how to gain power by all means, then use the instruments to accumulate the ‘Ill-gotten Wealth’ and oppress the People by working contrary to their wishes and aspirations, while they keep wallowing in abject poverty, hence the Leaders remain in affluence without recourse to the Wrath of God Almighty. Only God Almighty can deliver us at this stage. THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES!
