fDeluxe cancel Australian tour Minneapolis funk veterans fDeluxe, the band described by tastemaker Ahmir Questlove Thompson, as one go his favourite groups of all time, are sad to announce the cancellation of their first Australian tour. Lead singer Susannah Melvoin, who was unable to make the groups most recent show in their hometown of Minnesota, has withdrawn from the tour and as such all dates have been cancelled. In my 33 year career I have never had to cancel an overseas gig, until now, says co-founder St Paul Peterson. Our manager, Neil Richards, has done nothing but try to rectify the situation on our side but in good conscience I cant present fDeluxe without all of the members promised. After being welcomed with open arms in Europe last year we were very much looking forward to bringing the funk to Australia. Susannah will no longer feature as part of the fDeluxe touring line up and is taking an indefinite hiatus from the group. St. Paul Peterson, Eric Leeds and Jellybean Johnson will continue to perform as fDeluxe along with their world class backing band.
