feed the poor Reminder اعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ. People must urge one another to feed the poor. (Quran 89:18) Feed the poor who is contented with his lot (and does not beg), as well as him who is forced to beg. - Quran 22:36 Share your food with the unfortunate poor. - Quran 22:28 They feed the poor, the orphan and the captive ( = person in bondage for social and political reason) for the love of Allah, saying them: We feed you only for the Allahs pleasure, we desire no return nor thanks from you. - Quran 76:8-9 Give food to the hungry on a day of scarcity. - Quran 90:14 The Prophet Muhammad (Salla-Allahu ‘Alayhi wa Sallam) said: “CHARITY DOES NOT IN ANY WAY DECREASE THE WEALTH AND THE SERVANT WHO FORGIVES, ALLAH ADDS TO HIS RESPECT; AND THE ONE WHO SHOWS HUMILITY, ALLAH ELEVATES HIM IN THE ESTIMATION (OF THE PEOPLE).” Muslim Vol. 4, Hadith 6264 The Prophet Muhammad (Salla-Allahu ‘Alayhi wa Sallam) said: “BLESSED IS THE WEALTH OF A MUSLIM FROM WHICH HE GIVES TO THE POOR, TO ORPHANS AND TO NEEDY TRAVELLERS.” Bukhari, Volume 2, Hadith 544
