few observations on mentorship: - just cos you ask for it, you are not entitled to it - dont ask, request - write out your business idea, point out where you need help - best way is to email, worst way is to whatsapp! - dont be a smart ass, difference between that and smart is just of being an ass!! - if you dont hear back, follow up (you see, everyone is busy working!) - when given a feedback, revert with action plan or your progress (instead of disappearing) - most importantly: mentor is not some one who will do your homework/ write out your business plan - mentors are soundboards, they will guide, help connect you to resources - respect your time and your own business enough to do the background research - theres google you know! for doing some study before reaching out.. most people are happy to help and got out of their way. but, its really amazing how often they get flooded with- oh, lets meet and talk, i dont have anything written, so what are the sectors getting funded....really?!! #startups
