fierce pride and love of country Should rise like flame within all hearts Each time we hear our national anthem Stand proudly, sing, all must take part! Patriotism is not a clever label One may wear in a casual fashion It is a living breathing love of country Kept alive through loyal passion! A wealth of choices gifted Freedoms not just mine alone Paid for in conflict and battles To protect both hearth and home Freedoms were born of sacrifice And mercies that have been shown For tears that oft were mingled Sweat for hard work they had known The very principles of Patriotism Binding all together on this quest Are based upon the individuals United by love which stands the test Our nation’s first proud standard Bonding stripes, red, white, and blue Made stronger in each measured stitch Reinforcing American spirits as it flew!
