fijisun.fj/2013/06/28/big-meet/ BIG MEET BY MAIKA BOLATIKI Five bilateral agreements will be signed as part of the Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama’s meeting with his Russian counterpart today. According to Fiji’s non-resident ambassador to Russia, a security motorcade will escort Commodore Bainimarama to Gorkie, outside Moscow, to meet Dmitry Medvedev today. Ambassador Isikeli Mataitoga said they were trying to maximise opportunities during Commodore Bainimarama’s Russian trip. “The Prime Minister will travel by security motorcade to Gorkie, outside Moscow, for the official meeting with the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Mr Dmitry Medvedev and senior advisors,” Mr Mataitoga said. “The signing of the five bilateral agreements will also take place at Gorkie, in the presence of both PMs. The Gorkie meeting is expected to be completed around 3.30pm.” Soon after the Gorkie meeting, Mr Mataitoga said, the Prime Minister will return to Moscow to watch Fiji’s first match against Tonga in the Rugby World Cup Sevens which will kick off at 4.28pm Russia time “We are hopeful that the PM will be able to return to Moscow in time to watch the first 7s rugby match that Fiji will play against Tonga at 4.28pm.” According to Mr Mataitoga, the Prime Minister starts his official duties today with a a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Kremlin Palace ( North Wall) at 10am. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a war memorial, dedicated to Soviet soldiers killed during World War II. Mr Mataitoga confirmed that the Prime Minister and the Fiji delegation arrived in Russia at 5.15pm (Moscow time) yesterday. He confirmed that the Prime Minister attended the jersey presentation ceremony for our 7s rugby team, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The Prime Minister will be the chief guest at the Pure Fiji tourism promotion event at the Intercontinental Hotel in Moscow at 6pm (Moscow time) today.
