finally understands why humans are so infuriatingly illogical. Its a result of evolutionary selection. The tendency to go with your gut instinct, especially when evaluating risks, has been a survival trait in the good ole hunting and gathering days. It is, after all, much safer to instantly assume the rustle in the bushes is a lion and act accordingly, than to every time invoke the ponderous process of logical reasoning to evaluate the correctness of that assumption. Also explains humans instinctual fear and aversion towards the unknown. Again, the safe bet when encountering an Aperture-Science-Thing-We-Dont-Know-What-It-Does is to assume its dangerous and stay the heck away from it. After all, risking a bite of those unknown colorful mushrooms or trying to pet the funny river doggy with the elongated body and toothy smile would have been counter-productive to surviving long enough to sire the next generation of cavemen. Its still annoying as all hell, though.
