forOur prayer at "God Speak" is to lift up the Word of God. Help us with a "LIKE" and "SHARE" God bless you richley. Daily Scripture Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind. They will be condemned at the time of judgment. Sinners will have no place among the godly. For the LORD watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction. [Psalms 1:1-6 NLT] Peering Ahead Into Terabytes Did you know that there is more technology in your cell phone and how it works than went into sending an astronaut into space and returning them safely? Fifty percent of the people who read this will say, ‘so what’; my cell phone still works too slowly! Forty-nine percent of the people who read this will say, ‘when are they going to add more stuff to my phone’; and make my cell phone faster! One percent of you will observe, ‘what a fascinating quantum leap in only fifty years’; what will God let us unravel next? Will we be able to handle it or be chronic complainants? What? God didn’t invent the cell phone, the laptop or all that whiz-bang stuff that fill our lives. Man in all his wisdom conjured up the technology that makes our lives so much easier. We’ve moved from mega-bytes to giga-bytes to tera-bytes; ‘we’ are the masters of our universe right? Not exactly. Let’s reach into the “Truth” box for a minute and pull out some more facts. 1. Most people don’t know an insect bite from a tera-byte. 2. Advanced technology is there to be discovered not invented. 3. Do you remember from previous “Bible story” lessons exactly “Who” Jesus said was thrown out of heaven like a bolt of lightning, and for “What” sin that we are committing at the present!? Maybe we need to be reminded of an Old Testament character that was quoted in a New Testament book, who peered into the future and lived a life that should be reflected upon and heeded in these modern times. “By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time. He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward”. Hebrews 11:24-26 Throughout chapter 11 in Hebrews “By faith” is mentioned over and over and over because faith needs action and practice. It needs to be demonstrated. In reading this chapter you can see examples of what faith did and can do. “Faith” is an absolute certainty. The word “others” is also mentioned frequently in Hebrews and the Bible. “We” need to remember that at some point “we” are all the “others”. Faith helps us look beyond the world’s value system and man-invented technologies, to see the eternal values of God’s kingdom. Keep your eyes on the prize. It’s not man-made. It is easy to be deceived by the temporary benefits of technology, wealth, popularity, status, achievements, tera-bytes from chigger bites, i-phones from phonemes, phone booths to phonetics, and to be blind to the temporary benefits of Gods kingdom. We know that our communication devices work from satellites and other ingenious avenues. We also know that these space borders define limits—but not our limitations. We fail to realize that as vast as space is and as much as we’d like to think “The sky’s the limit”, that isn’t true. Space does have borders, we just don’t know exactly where they are—but you can safely bet that God does. That “final frontier” is still God’s heavenly kingdom. At the end of our lifetime, the solar system’s ultimate boundary might remain far off—unless God decides otherwise. Visit thebiblestoryteller/peering-ahead-into-terabytes/
