She has close friendships with the wife of former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman, Suzanne, who has a holiday home a stone’s throw from Jerry’s place in France; artist Tracey Emin, who’s just bought a house nearby; Bob Geldof’s girlfriend, Jeanne Marine, and Pete Townshend’s girlfriend, Rachel Fuller. Together they’ve formed a creative writing class. Another close friend is Patti Hansen, Rolling Stone Keith Richards’wife, who has recently battled with cancer. ‘I introduced her to Keith,’ says Jerry. ‘We used to model a lot together. Patti’s been very brave. We didn’t really know about it in the beginning. She was very, very quiet about it. Thankfully, she’s well now. But you need a lot of support when you’re fighting cancer. I went through all of that with my twin sister. ‘She had breast cancer around 2002. It was a terrifying thing to go through. I’ve been told it’s not hereditary – just terrible bad luck.
