[from Floyd Webb...] Dark fables.....ROASTED BLACK!! I wanna see this completed! Yall Need to take some of that holiday gift money yall got this year and help some indy filmmakers doing innovative project likes Micheal Wrights The Francis Ellis Mysteries. Here is what Michael says about it: The Francis Ellis Mysteries is a Four Volume, Mobile Media, Moving Panel Photo-Novella consisting of 20 Chapters. We are excited and proud to be re-imagining this form of story telling and fully expect once the public gets hold of it, it will inspire an avalanche of Artists telling stories in this fashion. The Betraying Root is my imagining of a post Second World War America blended into the classic fable of Jack and The Bean Stalk. I was inspired to conflate the two narratives after introducing Jack and the Bean Stalk to my son. Having not read it in decades I had forgotten how dark and sinister this tale actually was. I dont mind saying I was incensed by the guile of Jack and the cynical exploitation of the Giants wife. My empathy was with the abused parties. The parallels with colonization struck me immediately. The Giant was the other and the primary value of an other was to take all that could be taken from them and dispatch them when challenged. Incorporating the great American Art forms of Jazz and Film Noir cemented the vernacular of my soundscape and visualization and craftily realizing this Gothic tale through the eyes of a Black detective injects a delicious irony I couldnt resist. https://indiegogo/proje…/the-francis-ellis-mysteries
