This is responsible #professional and technical work assisting an administrative supervisor in the implementation of appropriate security components to provide information security and data integrity across the enterprise network. Work involves evaluation of security standards and practices; performing security and vulnerability assessments; providing technical direction in maintaining security and data integrity; troubleshooting security incidents; recommending new standards; resolution of more difficult work problems while assisting and training other technical staff to perform routine assignments. Qualified applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalency supplemented by college coursework in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field; and have at least two (2) years progressive experience in computing and information security (essential). Preferred applicants have graduated from an accredited four year college or university with a BA or BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field; have at least five (5) years of progressive experience in computing and information security, including experience with Internet technology and security issues; have experience in security policy development, security education, network penetration testing, application vulnerability assessments, risk analysis and compliance testing; have CISSP, GIAC or other security certification; have considerable knowledge of information security standards (eg ISO 17799/27002, etc.), rules and regulations related to information security, data confidentiality, and security principles used for risk identification and analysis related to desktop, server, application, database systems with specific emphasis on Oracle, MS SQL, VMWare, Windows, OS400, AIX and Solaris; have thorough knowledge of the functions, capabilities, security schemes, general operation and maintenance of modern data processing, central office automation or telecommunication systems and related IT equipment; are able to present oral and written reports clearly and concisely; and have knowledge of security framework and infrastructure to include Firewall(s); Virtual Private Networks (VPN), #virtualmachines (VM) cloud computing, virus detection, intrusion detection and vulnerability assessment tools (desirable).
